How does the internet work?

After watching many videos on the Kahn Academy. I have learned many things about the internet. Although there were some information which I previously knew, there was many new information about the internet which I just learned about. For instance:
  • Information on the internet is measured in bits
  • 8 bits together make one byte
    • Kilobytes = 1000 bytes, Megabytes = 1000 kilobytes, 1 Gigabyte = 1000 megabytes
  • Bits are sent by electricity, light, or radiowaves
  • Every internet website has an ip address
  • Every ip address is original and unique from one another
  • HTTP = Hypertext Transfer Protocol
  • HTML = Hypertext Markup Language
  • Encryption- the scrambling or changing of a message to hide it
  • Decryption- the process of unscrambling encrypted messages
  • Caesar's Cipher- one of the first well known encryption methods
Caesar's Cipher
