How does the internet work?
After watching many videos on the Kahn Academy. I have learned many things about the internet. Although there were some information which I previously knew, there was many new information about the internet which I just learned about. For instance:
- Information on the internet is measured in bits
- 8 bits together make one byte
- Kilobytes = 1000 bytes, Megabytes = 1000 kilobytes, 1 Gigabyte = 1000 megabytes
- Bits are sent by electricity, light, or radiowaves
- Every internet website has an ip address
- Every ip address is original and unique from one another
- HTTP = Hypertext Transfer Protocol
- HTML = Hypertext Markup Language
- Encryption- the scrambling or changing of a message to hide it
- Decryption- the process of unscrambling encrypted messages
- Caesar's Cipher- one of the first well known encryption methods
