Glenn Cunningham

Glenn Cunningham was an Olympic runner who overcame adversity as young as 7 years old, when he was with his brother. His brother was trying to light a fire but did pay attention and see the kerosene all over the floor, thus a huge fire started, one which engulfed him and burned Glenn's legs. A doctor told their parents that Glenn's brothers burn were to severe and he would die, and that Glenn would never walk again. However, Glenn sought out to obtain the ability of walking and did so. He eventual would run in two Olympics and go on to be a doctor.

This is a really inspirational story because it shows us that we (humans) are capable of accomplishing anything. If Glenn can go from having burnt legs to running in the marathon, then we can do whatever we want. We just need to stay motivated in our work and responsibility, similar to how I should stay focused on my school work, so that I can have a great job in the future.
